Createc has expanded its long-standing partnership with global robotics leader Boston Dynamics. The partnership marks a significant milestone in a relationship that has helped deploy advanced mobile robotics into some of the world’s most demanding industrial environments.
The new agreement builds on more than six years of successful collaboration and sees Cockermouth-headquartered Createc, which employs around 70 people across offices in Cumbria, Oxford, Tokyo and Oslo, become an authorised Boston Dynamics Reseller and Technology Provider.

Boston Dynamics is the global leader in developing and deploying highly mobile robots capable of tackling the toughest industrial and safety challenges.
Spot®, a quadruped robot used by Createc’s customers in the nuclear and power industries, also conducts autonomous inspections for enterprise asset and facility management.
As part of the agreement, Createc has been granted global authorisation to support the nuclear sector, in recognition of its internationally renowned expertise in nuclear robotics.
The company will also represent Boston Dynamics across the UK industrial market and lead Enterprise Asset Management activities throughout the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
The expanded partnership combines Boston Dynamics’ world-leading Spot robotic platform with Createc’s expertise in robotics integration, software and sensing technologies, providing customers with an end-to-end solution that enables organisations to move from pilot projects to operational deployment more quickly
Createc develops robotics, artificial intelligence and sensing technologies for organisations including Sellafield Ltd, Network Rail, EDF and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, with its technologies supporting major projects across critical infrastructure and industrial sectors worldwide.
Will Newsom, Chief Executive of Createc, said: “We are proud to strengthen our relationship with Boston Dynamics, one of the world’s leading robotics companies, and to build on years of successful collaboration.”
“Together, we have deployed Spot in complex environments where robotics can improve safety, reduce risk and gather critical data in places that are hazardous or difficult for people to access. This expanded partnership will help us bring those benefits to more organisations around the world, supporting Createc’s mission to accelerate the adoption of digital technologies and create a safer, more sustainable future.”
Createc has worked alongside Boston Dynamics for more than six years, integrating Spot into complex operational environments where robotics can improve safety, reduce operational risk and collect critical data in locations that are hazardous or difficult for people to access.
Marco da Silva, VP, General Manager, Spot, said: “Createc has been a standout partner over the last six years, pushing the boundaries of what Spot can achieve in demanding and hazardous environments.
“Expanding our partnership allows us to deliver complete, end-to-end autonomous inspection and asset management solutions that make workplaces safer and operations more efficient.”
The strengthened partnership reinforces both companies’ shared ambition to accelerate the adoption of mobile robotic solutions across nuclear, defence, infrastructure and industrial sectors.
It also supports continued investment in technical capability, including training, certification and collaborative planning.
The expanded partnership was formally marked during a visit by Boston Dynamics to Createc’s headquarters in Cockermouth this week, where representatives from both organisations met alongside Sellafield Ltd.
